We are seeking for a highly motivated candidate with a PhD to work on how metabolic changes resulting from, for instance dietary factors, regulate (stem) cell decisions during tissue or tumor development.
Candidates should:
- Have a strong background in cancer/development, metabolism, cell biology and molecular biology,
- Have scientific curiosity, be goal-oriented and collaborative,
- Be independent and have the ability to think critically. Experience with organoids, imaging, bioinformatics, and a solid publication record are preferred.
The Rodriguez Colman Lab offers a stimulating international atmosphere with a strong sense of teamwork. As a postdoctoral fellow, you will receive support from the PI in various areas, including scientific question identification, project design, grant writing, conference presentation, and manuscript writing.
The position is for 1 to 2 years. The postdoctoral fellow will benefit from an exciting scientific atmosphere at Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM) at the UMCU. Situated in Utrecht, the Netherlands, the CMM performs cutting-edge biomedical research driving discovery and understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying human disease. Researchers perform multidisciplinary fundamental and translational research, with strong emphasis on cancer. We count with several facilities, including sequencing (uSEQ-uBEQ), proteomics and metabolomics (UcyTOF) and the Cell Microscopy Core (including electron microscopy). More information on the CMM can be found at https://www.cmmutrecht.eu/.
