Rodriguez-Colman lab joins the Oncode Institute
Congratulations, Maria J. Rodriguez Colman! Maria is one of 10 new Junior Oncode Investigators, appointed by Oncode Institute.
Maria feels very honored to become part of Oncode:“We look forward to work side by side with such a talented group of cancer investigators. In the lab we investigate how the metabolism regulates the functioning of cells. The link between cancer and metabolism is gaining exponential attention, yet there is poor understanding on how metabolism affects cancer biology at the fundamental level. Our overarching goal is gain fundamental insights which will help to develop (adjuvant) dietary-based strategies for the treatment of (colorectal) cancer.”

Lab retreat in Rijs
Together with the groups of Jurian Schuijers (UMC Utrecht), Matilde Galli (Hubrecht Institute) and Aniek Janssen (UMC Utrecht), we went on a lab retreat in Rijs, Friesland. We had exciting discussions on metabolism, polyploidy, protein condensates and heterochromatin biology, and also went on a boat tour through the beautiful lakes in Friesland.
